I've been told that I'm a shamefully lazy blogger, but every now and then, I do get oddly inspired and write all manner of nonsense. Read on - it may elicit a laugh!

Road Rage

I've been told that I drive like a demon - I wouldn't say that I necessarily agree with this assessment, but I'll admit, I do have a penchant for speed and tormenting other road users. Now lest you start thinking I am one of those eejits who should never have been given a licence, quite the contrary, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better driver than me! What with my excellant handling of corners at top speed, and inclination to remind other drivers that the fast lane is indeed for fast cars, I'm the best driver I know!

My one shortcoming though is to quickly descend to a regular My Hyde when I encounter incompetent drivers. Cut in front of me, neglect to use your indicator, or drive at the speed of a funeral dirge, and the demon in me escapes with glee!! I have contemplated carrying placards with suitably obscene remarks to flash at offending drivers, but thought better of it lest "offending driver" is partial to carrying guns and pick-axes. So, I've had to resort to unkosher hand gestures and filthy language (it's not nearly as satisfying)

With no foreseeable end to the constant deluge of bad drivers on the road, I fear that my life is gonna be cut horribly short as a result of all the road rage induced stress. This I think and worry about daily, as I curse and scream obsceneties all the way to work.

As that famous song by Catatonia goes, "It's all over the front page, you give me road rage!".

You are not alone! Now think of my predicament. Living in a country that only has 1 lane roads, during a fuel crisis and being stuck behind a skorokoro that doesnt have the decency to move to the extreme left of the road (Zimbos have yet to learn about common road courtesy) to let me pass.

It's a danger!

Oh, fellow road rager! Were I not in South Africa, I would also have made the aforementioned placards, stating my annoyance and disgust at my fellow road users' ineptness on the roads! I do not however think that you have searched far enough, as there is noone better than I behind the wheel! At times I wonder if God beset upon me a rare talent, and spoke the words, "you my child, shall be known for your driving skills, and from hereon be known as 'driver extraodinaire!' Besides you need to drive in Johannesburg, before you can claim to be a truely skilled driver!

If there's one thing that all people have in common - it is that we all think we're excellent drivers. Even the idiots cutting in front of us on the road and the other idiots that attempt to make sharp right turns when they're in the far-left lane - even THEY think they're amazing drivers. In your defense, Star-Child, I do think your driving is pretty impressive. Nyasha, I can't bear testimony to yours as I haven't witnessed it yet - but I'm sure (as in, not the darkie 'I'm sure' which actually means 'I think') you're above-average.

Nyasha you drive like you're possessed or on crack! How can you even compare your skills to mine! I'm even insulted, maiwee!
